- The German boys are back with a new album on which they keep on serving us a very personal kind of melancholic dark electronics. Softer gloomy electronic ballads are mixed with more danceable tracks. A very hypnotizing and intriguing work which deserves several listenings to deliver its full flavour. Theyīve probably more than ever created their own trademark and their soulful electronics get my vote! text: CF: (7/8)
- The previous albums from Diorama left a nice impression and some tracks were just brilliant. But after having listened to the bandīs current release a couple of times now, I am not really overwhelmed and actually not convinced at all about "Amaroid". It sounds like the band used this album as a pause on search of something else and was not really on the outlook for people to have an insight in what the band is about. The whole left me with a feeling of listening to an introvert album. Despite its sound diversity the material could not convince me. I expected more. text: BVI: (6)
- A few seconds are enough to notice that Diorama comes to maturity with this new release. The construction of the songs is much more copmplex, the tracks are also more varied. These are two important and positive elements to start this review. However and unfortunately, itīs once again with the vocal part and the arrangement that we have a problem. I think that I wrote this more than a thousnad times but itīs impossible for me to listen to an entire album of Diorama without pushing the skip button. Itīs not because this music is terrible (far from this) but the enormous similarity with their big brother of Diary of Dreams is more and more confusing and disturbing. Once again, Iīll ask this eternal question: "Where is the originality of such a step? When will be the time of the ultimate weaning?" text: CX: (6/7)
- I was awaiting this album for long and I had great expectations about it. "Logic Friends", the opening track made me hesitate a little while "The Girls" really kicked my ass; Iīve heard this song again and again. In fact this album alternates average songs with anecdotal ones next to Dioramaīs genius. Hard to always stay on the top! text: PF: (6)
- This album excels in the sensitive and refined way of composing, melting electronic arrangements together with gothic moods. "Amaroid" brings a lot of emotions back to life, but holds on a dark source of inspiration, which is better known as melancholy. Their sadness has been composed with devotion and serenity. A cool production in an electronic style, which isnīt the most popular one, but which display their originality! text: DP: (7/8)
